It seems “roughing the passer” penalties get worse by the week. One that was called Sunday afternoon in Tennessee has the internet hot.

The Titans (7-2) are hosting the New Orleans Saints (5-3) and looking to stay atop the AFC. Things were tied 6-6 late in the second quarter and Tennessee was driving before quarterback Ryan Tannehill was picked off in the end zone on a 1st-and-goal play from the New Orleans 8-yard-line.

Big play for New Orleans, right? It was wiped away by a “roughing the passer” call on Saints linebacker Kaden Elliss.

The penalty moved the ball inside the 5 for Tennessee. Tannehill ran it in from a yard out a few plays later to put the Titans up 13-6.

Fans, media, and even a current player let their thoughts fly after the call.
