The NFL season is in full swing as most teams begin their 2024 seasons on Sunday.
The Seattle Seahawks are opening their season with a home matchup against the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, the pre-game festivities did not exactly go as planned.
The Seahawks’ live mascot, Taima, was released to fly around the stadium before the game. Unfortunately, the bird went off on its own and took a detour through the crowd.

Seattle writer Mike Vorel provided an update, stating that the bird found a railing to perch on amongst the fans.
The Seahawks’ live hawk, Taima, went rogue after being released during the team’s entrance and flew into the crowd, where it landed on a railing. Fans took photos and attempted to pet it until order was restored.

Petting a live mascot is never a good idea, folks.
Taima has been around since 2005, and her handler, David Knutson, has over 30 years of experience handling hawks. This just goes to show that anyone can have a bad day.
Taima will get next weekend off as the Seahawks travel to New England to take on the Patriots. The bird will assumedly get another shot at the pregame festivities in Week 3 when the Seahawks welcome in the Miami Dolphins.
The Seahawks are currently down by 3 points to the Broncos in Week 1.
