Patrick Mahomes is once again the king of the NFL, leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a dramatic overtime Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers.
After the 49ers kicked a field goal to begin overtime, Mahomes took the ball and led the Chiefs down the field. He converted on a 4th-down play and a pair of 3rd-down tries before eventually finding Mecole Hardman for a walk-off touchdown.
When it was all said and done, Mahomes finished the game 34-for-46 passing the ball for 333 yards and 2 touchdowns. He did have 1 interception but that lone mistake did not overshadow his mastery. He kept San Francisco’s pass rush off balance by leading the Chiefs with 66 rushing yards on 9 carries.
For his efforts, Mahomes was once again named the Super Bowl MVP, winning the award for the third time. He joins Joe Montana and Tom Brady as the only players to win 3+ Super Bowl MVPs.

The pace Mahomes is on is also noteworthy. He has 3 championship MVP awards in his first 7 seasons, becoming the first player in MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL history to reach that accomplishment.

Mahomes still has a ways to go to catch Brady as the all-time GOAT in the NFL, but his career is off to a flying start with 3 Super Bowl wins, including the rare back-to-back titles.
