PrizePicks for Chiefs-Dolphins: Our favorite plays for NFL Playoffs showdown

PrizePicks is the place to be on Saturday night when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Miami Dolphins in one of the most-exciting matchups of the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend.

The temperature in Kansas City is expected to be well below freezing and the wind chill should be significantly below 0 degrees. It has the potential to be the coldest NFL game ever played.

What does that mean for your DFS picks over at PrizePicks? While the weather will certainly be a factor, don’t expect it to drastically change how these teams approach the game.

I’ll break down my 3 favorite picks for tonight’s game below. But first…

My PrizePicks for Chiefs-Dolphins

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: Lower than 277.5 passing+rushing yards

Expect both teams to try to establish the run early. Eventually, Mahomes is going to have to make some plays with his arm, but he shouldn’t be throwing as much as he normally does. His receivers have been unreliable all year even when the temperature was above 0 degrees, so don’t expect Mahomes to go for 278+ combined pass+rush yards tonight. The Chiefs’ drives should be slow and methodical, marching down the field while trying to control the clock.

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: Higher than 7.5 targets

When Mahomes does air it out, expect him to look toward his most-reliable receiver. Kelce and Mahomes have been through dozens of playoff battles together and there’s certainly a high degree of trust between the two. In the playoffs, when every game is a do-or-die proposition, expect Mahomes to throw it to Kelce. I expect Kelce to have 8+ targets in tonight’s game.

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: Higher than 6.5 receptions

Yes, the Dolphins need to stick with their rushing attack more than they did last week against Buffalo. But they’d also be foolish not to draw up a dozen or so plays for Tyreek Hill. You know Hill will be motivated to have a big performance against his old team, too. Even if the Dolphins and QB Tua Tagovailoa aren’t able to attack down the field, just getting it to Hill at the line of scrimmage is often enough to free him for big gains. I like Hill to have 7+ catches against his former squad tonight.

How Many Picks Should You Make?

A 3-picks contest with the picks I detailed above would pay out a 5x multiplier if all 3 selections are correct. Thus, a $5 entry fee would net $25 in winnings if you’re right:

PrizePicks allows users to enter contests with as few as 2 picks and as many as 6 picks. Search around in the app and find the options you feel the most comfortable with. Just make sure to have your picks locked in before kickoff of tonight’s exciting AFC playoff battle!
