Sleeper Fantasy Promo: Joe Burrow needs to throw for 1 yard in Week 1 for players to win

Sleeper Fantasy is gearing up for the NFL season, and they’re giving daily fantasy sports (DFS) players a great promo for Week 1 of the regular season.

Last year, LSU legend Joe Burrow suffered a rare wrist injury for the Cincinnati Bengals, missing a good chunk of the season. But he’s back in the mix ahead of the 2024 season and will try to get the Bengals back to the playoffs.

The Bengals play the New England Patriots in Week 1. New England figures to be one of the worst teams in the league this fall, so Burrow and his squad should get off to a fast start. But all Sleeper users need from Burrow is 1 single passing yard to win, thanks to a special promo from Sleeper.

My Picks for NFL Week 1

Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals: Higher than 0.5 pass yards

This is the no-brainer pick on this list. Burrow has thrown for at least 1 yard in every game he’s been on an NFL field. Against the New England Patriots in Week 1, he should have a big game. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins should be at full speed to lead the Bengals’ offense, which means it’s all systems go for Cincinnati. Burrow will be eager to prove his wrist is fine and that he has the potential to have a huge performance in 2024.

Derek Carr, QB, New Orleans Saints: Higher than 226.5 pass yards

Carr wasn’t a quarterback many people gave much thought to in 2023, but he was capable of putting up huge numbers. He threw for 300+ yards 6 times even though surpassed the 227-yard mark 8 times total. Basically, he was an all-or-nothing performer last season. If I had to pick “all” or “nothing” for Carr in Week 1, I’d go with “all.” After all, he’s facing a Panthers team that was the worst in football last year and then had to give its No. 1 overall pick to the Chicago Bears. Maybe the Panthers will be better in 2024, but the Saints should be able to take care of business through the air in Week 1.

Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions: Higher than 262.5 pass yards

Goff faces his old team in Week 1. The Sunday Night Football matchup on NBC on Sept. 8 features the Rams heading to Detroit to take on Goff and the Lions. Goff will certainly be motivated to look good against the team that originally drafted him. And there’s no Aaron Donald anchoring the Rams’ defensive front this year, so he won’t be under as much pressure as he would have been in years past. The Lions have big-time expectations this year, so I expect Goff to do what he does best and put up big numbers at home. He should be good for at least 263 passing yards to start off the 2024 season.

How Many Picks Should You Make?

You can combine several picks on Sleeper to make your multiplier (or potential payout) as big as you are comfortable with. I personally prefer 3-pick contests. As you can see below, the 3 picks that I detailed above, when combined together on the Sleeper app, feature a 4.96x multiplier. That means I’d win $24.80 on a $5 entry if all 3 picks are correct:

You can add as many picks as you’d like, up to a maximum of a 100x multiplier. Just remember to get your picks in before kickoff in Week 1 of the NFL regular season in order to take advantage of this great discount involving Joe Burrow.
