Former Florida QB Kyle Trask will remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Free agency in the NFL has started with a frenzy of roster moves around the league. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers have decided to keep Trask around as their backup quarterback for 2025, signing him to a 1-year deal.

It will be Trask’s 5th season in Tampa Bay. After playing at Florida from 2016-20, Trask declared for the 2021 NFL Draft instead of using the COVID-19 waiver for a 6th collegiate season. The Buccaneers drafted Trask in the 2nd round using the No. 64 pick.
Trask has seen limited playing time with the Bucs. Tom Brady was the team’s starting quarterback for the 2021 and ’22 seasons.
After Brady’s retirement, there was talk of Trask potentially taking over, but the team brought in Oklahoma legend Baker Mayfield to compete for the starting job. Mayfield got the nod and is returning for a 3rd season with the club.
