Tee Higgins is set to remain with the Cincinnati Bengals for at least the 2025 season. The Bengals announced that they have designated the former Clemson wide receiver as their franchise player.
Higgins broke the news himself on social media, simply posting “tag.” The club followed up with a formal announcement, noting that the two sides will continue to work toward a long-term deal.

With free agency approaching, Cincinnati had until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday to tag Higgins. Under the franchise tag, Higgins is set to make $26.2 million for the 2025 season. The Bengals and Higgins have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal.
It’s back-to-back taggings for Higgins. He is entering Year 6 of his professional career in 2025. Over 5 seasons, Higgins has appeared in 70 regular-season games (62 starts), catching 330 passes for 4595 yards and 34 touchdowns. Last season, Higgins logged 73 catches for 911 yards and 10 TDs.
The Higgins move comes as the Bengals have vowed to make fellow WR Ja’Marr Chase the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.
