Xavier Restrepo has the chance to keep catching passes from Cam Ward.

Restrepo, Miami’s all-time career leader in receptions and receiving yards, was not selected during the 2025 NFL Draft. He did not need long, however, to land a pro opportunity.

The Tennessee Titans, who drafted Ward No. 1 overall to begin the draft, are bringing in Restrepo.

Playing with Ward, Restrepo had a standout 2024 season. He caught 69 passes for career-highs of 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Hurricanes.

With a strong season, fans may be wondering why Restrepo was not drafted. His Pro Day performance can be blamed.

The NFL Network reported that Restrepo clocked an unofficial 4.83-second 40-yard dash time at his March Pro Day. In a since-deleted post on X, Restrepo blamed the slow time on his right hamstring tightening up. He said he went forward with running the 40 at his Pro Day because it’s “in his blood to compete.”

Now, Restrepo will be competing for a roster spot in Tennessee. The Titans look to be revamping their wide receiver room with Ward’s arrival, drafting Florida WR Chimere Dike and Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor in Round 4. Tennessee also selected Texas TE Gunnar Helm in Round 4.
