Tim Tebow now knows his future with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars were the latest team to release its first-round roster cuts on Tuesday, as NFL teams have to reduce their roster down to 85 players. In one more week, teams will reduce their rosters yet again ahead of the 53-man final roster.
Tebow, unfortunately, didn’t make the roster in the first round of cuts, and he released a statement following the news.

Tebow, who made the transition to tight end, was recently roasted for his weak blocking attempts in the Jaguars first preseason game here and here. Former Jaguars great Tony Boselli also had a concerning observation about Tebow during the preseason game.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and former Florida head coach Urban Meyer signed Tebow to a contract in May and he joined the team during offseason workouts. Tebow, 33, still hasn’t played in a regular season NFL game since 2012 with the New York Jets. He had stints with the New England Patriots in 2013 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015; however, those were short lived.
Along with Tebow, the Jaguars released 4 other players:
- CB DJ Daniel (waived)
- WR Josh Imatorbhebhe (waived/injured)
- WR Tim Jones (waived/injured)
- DT Daniel Ross (reserve/injured)
