Florida softball used a walkoff single from Korbe Otis to beat Alabama, 4-3, taking a 3-game weekend set at Katie Seashole Pressley Stadium.

With one out in the bottom of the 7th. Otis grounded one under the glove of Crimson Tide second baseman Kali Heivilin and into right field, scoring Taylor Shumaker from second.

Here’s video of the moment:

All of the scoring in this one came in the 6th and 7th innings. With 2 outs in the top of the 6th, Heivilin’s RBI double gave the Tide a 1-0 lead before the Gators brought 2 across in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead.

The Tide jumped back ahead, 3-2, in the top of the 7th before the Gators scored a pair to grab the win, with Otis’s single sealing the deal after Kendra Falby came across with the tying run.

Alabama won the opener, 7-4, on Thursday. But Florida won in run-rule fashion, 12-4, on Friday to even the series. Saturday’s game was much more dramatic, but the Gators pulled it out to take 2 out of 3.

Florida improves to 38-10 (10-7 SEC) and will host USF on Wednesday. Alabama, now 31-18 (8-10), travels to Alabama State on Tuesday.
