Who expected the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks to be playing for a chance to go to the NBA Finals? Both teams needed to go to seven games to make it out of the Eastern Conference Finals, but now the real test begins.
Oddsmakers have installed the Bucks as the favorite over the Hawks ahead of Game 1, but let’s turn our attention to our best player prop bet picks between these two teams.
Hawks vs. Bucks Game 1 Player Prop Picks
Trae Young Over 28.5 Points (-125, BetMGM)
These playoffs have been Trae Young’s coming-out party. The diminutive point guard is using his craftiness and shot-making ability to turn defenses into Swiss cheese. He has already cooked two of the best defenses in the NBA (Knicks and Sixers). Facing off against Jrue Holiday won’t be an easy task, but he has passed every test with flying colors so far in the playoffs.

GET BONUS!Young is averaging 29.1 points per game through the first 12 playoff games of his career. He’s showing that the moment is not too big for him. The third-year point guard has scored 32 and 35 points in Game 1s (both on the road) so far in the postseason. Win or lose, we expect that trend to continue for Young against Milwaukee.
Kevin Huerter Under 13.5 Points (-120, DraftKings)
Kevin Huerter was magnificent in Atlanta’s upset win over the Sixers in Game 7. In fact, he was great throughout most of that series, but he’s going to have a tougher time against Milwaukee. Huerter has only scored 14 or more points in four of 12 games in these playoffs.
With Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton on the Bucks, Huerter is likely going to have an All-Defense caliber player on him often. This is going to be a much tougher matchup than Seth Curry, who Huerter absolutely destroyed in Game 7 of last round. It’s also worth noting that Huerter’s minutes might take a slight dip if Bogdan Bogdanovic is completely healthy for this series.

CLAIM OFFERGiannis Antetokounmpo Under 52.5 PTS+REB+AST (-110, FOX Bet)
Betting against Giannis Antetokounmpo might seem like a dumb idea after his monster performance against the Nets in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, but there is value on this play. Antetokounmpo finished below this number in six of seven games against Brooklyn.
Despite the fact that he was putting up ridiculous numbers, 53 total points, rebounds, and assists is a monster stat line for any player. We expect both teams to slow the pace down in this game, which means Giannis is going to have fewer opportunities to rack up stats. We expect Giannis to have a big series and lead the Bucks to the NBA Finals, but he’s going to fall short of this number in Game 1.
