The NCAA baseball tournament 2021 is underway. 64 teams entered the tournament, and the Super Regional teams have now been identified and games have been scheduled. Eight Super Regional hosts have also been announced.

How does the College World Series work? With respect to division I, the NCAA baseball tournament starts as a 64-team tournament that is setup with 16 four-team double-elimination mini brackets. One team moves on from each mini bracket which leads us to 16 teams in the super regionals. Each super regional is a three game series between two teams. Then, eight teams move on to the actual part of the tournament known as the College World Series. The eight teams in the College World Series are positioned into two four-team brackets in which double elimination occurs. The winner of each four-team bracket moves on to the championship series. The two contenders in the championship series play a three game series to determine the NCAA baseball national champion.

Going into the tournament, the national top 16 seeds were:

  1. Arkansas
  2. Texas
  3. Tennessee
  4. Vanderbilt
  5. Arizona
  6. TCU
  7. Miss State
  8. Texas Tech
  9. Stanford
  10. Notre Dame
  11. Old Dominion
  12. Ole Miss
  13. East Carolina
