The NCAA softball tournament 2021 is underway. 64 teams entered the tournament which began on May 21, 2021. The teams were selected from 31 automatic qualifications for teams that won their respective conferences plus an additional 33 teams that were selected as “at-large” teams to make the tournament.
Following the regionals round, the following teams advanced and will be matched up as follows:
- No. 1 Oklahoma vs. No. 16 Washington
- No. 8 Missouri vs. James Madison
- No. 5 Oklahoma State vs. Texas
- No. 4 Florida vs. Georgia
- No. 3 Alabama vs. No. 14 Kentucky
- No. 6 Arkansas vs. No. 11 Arizona
- No. 7 LSU vs. No. 10 Florida State
- No. 2 UCLA vs. Virginia Tech

What happens after Super Regionals? Eight teams advance to the Women’s College World Series where it is double elimination in bracket play (2 four-team brakcets. Then there will be a best-of-3 championship series to determine the NCAA softball national champion. As of now, we know of 5 of the 8 teams that will advance. By the end of day Sunday, we will know the full field.
