Stephen A. Smith has no interest in running for President of the United States. He has maintained that stance in multiple interviews, but that doesn’t change what ESPN’s popular personality believes about his prospects.

According to Smith, he believes he has what it takes to run — and win — the race for president. He doubled down on that belief during a recent appearance on “The View,” while also claiming once again he has no desire to run.

“I make of it that citizens, particularly on the left, are desperate,” Smith said in regards to his positive polling numbers. “And I mean it when I say it: I think I can beat them all. I have no desire whatsoever to run for office. I am not a politician. I am not qualified.”

Here are Smith’s full comments where he shares his perspective on what he brings to the table in regard to the current state of the Democratic party:

Smith may continue to say he’s not interested in the presidency, but every time the topic comes up, it is a new wave of attention on ESPN’s longtime host and analyst. Interested parties can even check out Kalshi Trading where it is possible to buy shares on whether or not Smith earns the Democratic Party nomination for 2028.

And while Smith is a decided “no” right now, that doesn’t mean he has a change of heart before we reach the key stretch of the presidential race. Either way, stay tuned to find out.
