Malik Willis has generated a lot of buzz in Indianapolis this week at the NFL Scouting Combine. Willis has done plenty on the field to impress NFL representatives, but he went viral for his actions off the field.

On Thursday, a video of Willis donating some Combine gear to a homeless woman went viral on Twitter. The video, shared by Ryan Lacey, has over 3 million views.

Willis was asked about the video during a recent NFL Network appearance.

“I walked past her on the way to the Nike suite and I chopped it up with them and I walked out with a suitcase and whatnot. And I felt bad because I saw her son. It was a pregnant lady and she was homeless,” Willis told NFL Network, per CBS Sports. “And I was just like, ‘Shoot, I don’t have no money, but I can give you a couple of shirts.'”

Willis felt the need to help somehow.

“I just felt like I had to do that,” Willis said during his segment. “I mean, I’m at a position right now where I’m not worried about much of anything except getting better. So, if I can help her out (in) any way, I felt like I had to.”

Willis began his college football career at Auburn, spending 2 seasons at AU (2017-18). He transferred to Liberty and sat out the 2019 season. He started 23 games for Hugh Freeze’s Flames over the past 2 seasons. This past season, Willis posted career-highs in numerous passing categories, going 207-of-339 for 2,857 yards and 27 touchdowns. As a runner, Willis’ best season was in 2020 when he ran for 944 yards and 14 TDs while throwing for 2,250 yards and 20 scores.
