Tony Romo was able to make a seamless transition from the NFL to a broadcasting career immediately after his retirement. Since 2017, he has partnered with play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson as CBS’s lead NFL announcing team.
Romo has called a pair of Super Bowls for the network and is set to call a 3rd in February from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. He, Nantz, and Wolfson are at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers host the Cincinnati Bengals.
And Romo has now reached an impressive achievement: he has now called a game in every NFL stadium. Nantz made mention of the milestone during the 2nd quarter of Niners-Bengals.
Romo’s enthusiasm, ability to predict plays before they occur, and chemistry with Nantz have made him one of the league’s most popular color commentators. And, under a new contract signed in 2020 that’s paying him a reported $17 million, he’s set to be around for a while.
