Notre Dame, Under Armour receive mixed reviews over new uniforms
By Keith Farner
Published:
Notre Dame on Monday revealed its latest Shamrock Series uniforms ahead of the game against Wisconsin on Sept. 25 at Soldier Field.
For details into the design, the Fighting Irish said the helmet honors the Chicago flag, pairing it with the classic Notre Dame gold helmet, the collar prominently displays the program’s mission statement, which is to “graduate champions.”
About the numbers, the block slab serif numbers represent the “City of Broad Shoulders,” while the pants are a direct nod to the Notre Dame team that played the first football game at Soldier Field in 1924, the same year it won the first national championship. The sleeves feature two gold stripes that resemble the rivers and waterways represented on the city of Chicago’s flag.
The gloves echo the city of Chicago’s flag by mirroring the pant stripe.

I don’t say this often in regards to Notre Dame’s alternate uniforms (2013 the exception) but:
I really like them. https://t.co/jBTrrfsCd4

Behold, this year’s Shamrock Series jerseys. Stand down message boards everywhere, these look solid with some nice Chicago touches. https://t.co/bCpIj2MgRI

I love Shamrock Series uniform release day, a bunch of dudes pretending to be Miranda Priestly lecturing each other about cerulean.

One of my favorite days of the year. All the uptight “traditionalist” who will cry over one alternative jersey they wear once a year! Missed it so much last year.

You’re right. Let’s hope the non generic one is a little better at least. Always are but still feel like they could do so much better.
