Billy Bowman Jr. will return to Oklahoma in 2024 as the Sooners head to the SEC. The defensive back just wrapped up his 3rd season with the program but will return for his 4th and final year of eligibility.

Bowman had an impressive campaign out of the defensive backfield in 2023, recording 61 tackles and 6 interceptions — 3 of those INTs going for 6 points. He also added 3.0 tackles for a loss and 4 pass breakups. For his efforts, he was named an All-Big-12 1st-team selection following an honorable mention nod in 2022.

Bowman was a major part of the Sooners’ resurgence after a disappointing beginning to Brent Venables’ tenure in Norman in 2022. After a 6-7 mark that year, Oklahoma rebounded to a 10-2 campaign in 2023 and will face Arizona in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28.

As for Bowman, with his return to the program for one last go-around secured, he’ll look to give his NFL Draft stock a major boost with the likes of Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas on the Sooners’ initial SEC schedule in 2024.
