Oklahoma is on the board for 2026. The Sooners landed a new commitment on Tuesday from a young, talented ball-carrier out of Texas.

Jonathan Hatton Jr. took to social media on Tuesday to verbally pledge to play for Brent Venables and DeMarco Murray at Oklahoma.

A standout at Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, Hatton’s listed measurements are 6-1, 193 pounds as a sophomore. On the 247Sports Composite, Hatton is rated 4-stars, the No. 5 running back, No. 8 recruit in the state of Texas and No. 66 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

In the early stages of his recruitment, Hatton picked up 8 scholarship offers. Nebraska, Baylor, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt are among the other programs that showed interest.

OU was able to get Hatton to Norman for a campus visit in July. Hatton documented the trip on social media, offering Sooners fans a preview of how he looks sporting the No. 6. The Lone Star State native showed that he is well versed on the Red River Rivalry, going horns down during his photoshoot.
