Bo Wallace lights up Hugh Freeze for throwing Auburn QBs under the bus after Arkansas loss
Bo Wallace knows first-hand what playing for Hugh Freeze is like.
In 2012, he transferred to Ole Miss just to play for Freeze, and Wallace had success in Oxford under Freeze, throwing for a combined 9,534 yards, 62 touchdown passes and 19 TD runs in 3 seasons from 2012-14. Twice under Freeze, at the end of the 2012 and ’13 seasons, Wallace was named the MVP of Ole Miss’ bowl games.
Freeze made Wallace a better quarterback, or at least everybody thought he did. But on Saturday night, in the aftermath of Auburn’s 24-14 loss to Arkansas, Freeze made Wallace very upset. Specifically, Wallace was upset at what the 2nd-year Tigers head coach had to say about his struggling quarterbacks, Hank Brown and Payton Thorne.
“We’ve got to find guys that won’t throw it to the other team,” Freeze said in his postgame press conference.
Wallace took exception to Freeze’s comments.
“We’re approaching the point that he’s thrown so many QBs under the bus, that maybe no one wants to play for him??” wrote Wallace on Saturday night. “His offense helped me tremendously put numbers up when I blew my shoulder out … But why is it someone else’s fault every time there’s a loss?? … but when there’s a win I watch the press conferences just to count how many times the word “I” is used … appreciate what he did for me, my son wouldn’t be playing for him tho.”

The freshman Brown threw 3 interceptions in the 1st half before giving way to the senior Thorne in the 2nd half. But things didn’t get better, as Thorne, who was benched in favor of Brown, was picked off once and his 2 touchdown passes weren’t enough to rescue Auburn (2-2) from a home loss in its SEC opener.
Wallace had a lot more to say about Freeze on social media, too. He wasn’t afraid to vent his anger over his former head coach.
Now, with the Tigers quarterback situation a mess, Auburn has the tall task of hosting an angry Oklahoma team in Week 5.
