Jaxson Dart is no longer an enigma in Oxford.

Now, the Ole Miss senior quarterback is a star who leads the 5th-ranked team in the country.

And Saturday night, Dart took another step in his stardom. With his 382-yard, 4-touchdown performance in a 52-13 home victory over Georgia Southern, Dart now has the most passing yards through 4 games of any SEC quarterback in the past 20 seasons.

That’s a lot of years, and that’s a lot of standout SEC quarterbacks that Dart passed on Saturday night as he helped the high-octane Rebels improve to 4-0 in 2024.

Dart now has an eye-popping 1,554 yards passing in the opening 4 games. He got started on Aug. 31 against Furman with a 418-yard performance in a 76-0 victory. Then in Week 2, Dart added 377 yards passing in a 52-3 blowout of Middle Tennessee.

Then in Week 3, Dart did the unthinkable, exactly matching that Week 2 total with another 377 yards passing in a 40-6 rout of Wake Forest. Then came the 382 yards passing on Saturday night against Georgia Southern, when he only threw 1 interception and kept the Rebels humming toward many meaningful games later this season as they attempt to make the College Football Playoff for the 1st time in their history.

Dart has 12 touchdown passes in those record-setting 1st 4 games of 2024, and he’s only thrown 2 interceptions.

In Week 5 next Saturday, Dart will look to keep the big-time numbers flowing as Ole Miss hosts Kentucky.
