Lane Kiffin revamped his coaching staff at Ole Miss this offseason, bringing in former Alabama DC Pete Golding as the Rebels’ new defensive coordinator.

Let’s just say the Pete Golding era in Oxford didn’t get off to a great start in the first quarter against Mercer on Saturday, as the Bears took a Carter Peevy run 75 yards to the end zone on their first play from scrimmage.

Things quickly improved, as the Rebels rolled to a dominant 73-7 win over FCS Mercer, but that didn’t stop Kiffin from trolling Golding on social media on Sunday morning.

As you can see below, Kiffin took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a conversation he had over the headset with Golding after the opening score:

Golding was true to his promise, as the Bears were indeed held to just the 1 touchdown on Saturday. Perhaps there’s still time for the new Ole Miss coordinator to earn his big paycheck yet!
