LOOK: Ole Miss starts weekend early with Thursday flight to Cal

Ole Miss is ready for its first big test of 2017.

The Rebels are getting set to face the California Golden Bears Saturday night, and it looks like the Rebels were anxious to get the weekend started. Ole Miss Football shared a photo of the team boarding the flight to California Thursday afternoon as opposed to the usual travel day of Friday.

The move could be a strategic one for the team as the Rebels will be fighting jet lag as well as the Golden Bears come Saturday. Kickoff is set for 10:30 pm ET on ESPN, and flying out a day early will allow the Rebels a better chance to acclimate themselves to the west coast.

Saturday’s game will be the Rebels only chance to get a signature, non-conference win before beginning SEC play Sept. 30 at Alabama.
