Ole Miss falls to Arizona in Tucson Super Regional Game 3, eliminated from NCAA Tournament

Ole Miss’ 2021 season ended in disappointing fashion on Sunday night in Tuscon, Arizona. The No. 12 seed Rebels fell to No. 5 seed Arizona 16-3 in the decisive Game 3 of the Tucson Super Regional.
Arizona led 3-1 before exploding for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. It was 15-1 before Ole Miss would answer, scoring a run in the top of the eighth. Arizona answered that run, making it 16-2 going into the ninth inning. The Rebels managed one more run in the top of the ninth before making the third out.
Tim Elko managed one more double in the ninth.

On the mound, Taylor Broadway got the start. During the seven-run fourth inning, Broadway was chased before recording an out. Broadway finished with a line of 3 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 2 K, picking up the loss.
The Rebels dropped Friday’s series opener 9-3 but bounced back strong Saturday with a 12-3 victory forcing the decisive Game 3.
Ole Miss finishes the 2021 campaign with a 45-22 record.
