Ole Miss is currently leading Oklahoma in the 4th quarter of the Week 9 game between the sides, but the remainder of that game is being put on hold for the moment. Action was stopped due to a medical emergency on the Ole Miss sideline, according to ESPN’s broadcast team.

According to ESPN’s sideline reporter, an Ole Miss team doctor was down on the field for a long time and was surrounded by EMS personnel while being tended too. The team doctor had collapsed, though it’s unclear what caused the incident.

Fortunately, ESPN revealed the team doctor never lost consciousness, and he was even spotted up on his feet and walking with assistance to the tunnel of the stadium. The broadcast said he will be taken by ambulance to be further evaluated, but that is at least a sigh of relief for the time being.

As for the game on the field, Ole Miss held a 26-14 lead at the time of the emergency and is trying to put this one away. However, the Sooners have been playing much better in Week 9 after some key changes to the offensive coaching staff under Brent Venables.

Stay tuned for more updates on the situation.
