The Ole Miss defense can’t afford to be without any key players, but that’s exactly what will happen for the remainder of the 2018 season.

According to news on Tuesday, S C.J. Moore will miss the rest of the season while recovering from an injury.

Per co-defensive coordinator Jason Jones, Moore tore a pectoral muscle — an injury that is expected to take four or five months to heal:

Moore was a starting safety for the Rebels, who struggled mightily on pass defense all year. Moore had 17 tackles, an interception and two fumble recoveries before his season-ending injury.

Sadly, Moore is a senior, so we’ll have to see if this injury spells the end of his career at Ole Miss.
