Ole Miss played the front end of a scheduled home-and-home with Wake Forest on Saturday night in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. According to coach Lane Kiffin, the second leg of the series won’t happen.

Wake Forest is scheduled to come to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Sept. 13, 2025. Kiffin said Saturday night the Demon Deacons will buy out the contract and not make the trip. A spokesperson for the athletic department confirmed to Inside the Rebels’ Brad Logan that Wake Forest had elected to buy out the game.

The Rebels beat the Demon Deacons 40-6 on Saturday to move to 3-0 on the season. Quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for 377 yards and 2 scores as the Ole Miss offense rang up 650 yards.

On the other side, Wake Forest was effectively stymied. It had only 5 rushing yards in the first half and scored just 6 points. Wake finished 4-for-17 on third down as Ole Miss produced 4 sacks and shut down the run game.

Per game on paper, Ole Miss had a net success rate of plus-19% in the game. Wake had just a 34% success rate in the game.

If Wake Forest does indeed come off the schedule, the 2025 slate will feature home nonconference games against Georgia State, The Citadel, and Tulane.
