Taz Nicholson has left the Big Ten and found a home in the SEC.
The former Illinois defensive back on Saturday committed to Ole Miss.
This past season, Nicholson made 36 tackles, 2.0 TFLs, 6 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and 2 forced fumbles on the season. Earlier he was named an Athlon Preseason All-Big Ten fourth team selection, and a PFF Preseason All-Big Ten third team pick.
A starter for the past 2 seasons, Nicholson has one season of eligibility remaining. In 2022, Nicholson got his first shot in the starting lineup for the first 10 games before he dislocated his wrist against Purdue.
Nicholson’s commitment is the second in as many days after former Arkansas linebacker Pooh Paul committed to the Rebels.
The 5-foot-11 and 180-pounder from Jacksonville, Florida was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school, and was the No. 1 prep school athlete in the nation by 247 Composite.
