The Troy Trojans are looking for a new head coach and they may be looking at a couple of assistants in the SEC to make that happen.

The Trojans fired former Auburn assistant coach Chip Lindsey as head coach after 3 years at the helm. According to FootballScoop.com, they may be looking at Alabama assistant coach Charles Kelly, University of Kentucky assistant Jon Sumrall. FootballScoop’s report states, “West Virginia’s Jordan Lesley and a fourth, unidentified candidate” are also scheduled to meet with Troy’s athletic director about the position.

Kelly is the associate defensive coordinator and safeties coach and Sumrall is co-defensive coordinator and coaches the linebackers for the Wildcats.

Sumrall was an assistant coach at Troy for 3 years from 2015-2018 and Kelly, who played defensive back at Auburn, received his Master’s degree from Troy.
