A freshman at Clemson University was found dead behind the football stands at Memorial Stadium, according to South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
The victim was identified by the Pickens County Coroner as Michael Joseph Allen, 19, of DeKalb, Georgia.
SLED investigates all on-campus deaths at colleges and universities in the state. The location of the body was reported by WHNS in Greenville, S.C., and Pickens County Deputy Coroner Gary Duncan told the station investigators were not sure why Aaron might have fallen.
The coroner’s office was called after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Duncan said.
It’s worth noting that last week’s football game between South Carolina and Clemson was played at Williams-Brice Stadium and not Memorial Stadium.
