College basketball is full of guys who put up big numbers but don’t get the love they deserve nationally.
This week, college basketball insider Jon Rothstein put together a list of the 10 least-appreciated players in the nation, and 2 SEC standouts made the cut.
Per Rothstein, Arkansas’s Mason Jones and Auburn’s Samir Doughty don’t get the credit they deserve. About Doughty, Rothstein said:
A capable defender that can score or initiate things offensively, Doughty has had a major hand in Auburn’s ability to remain atop the SEC standings.
About Jones, Rothstein wrote:
The 6-5 Jones is up in all major statistical categories from last season and has emerged into one of the best players in the SEC.
Those guys certainly have been stars this year. Will they make an impact down the stretch and into the SEC Tournament? We’ll find out starting Saturday.
