College GameDay is coming to the SEC in Week 1 of the 2024 season.
ESPN’s signature college football show will be in College Station for Texas A&M’s season-opener against Notre Dame on Aug. 31. GameDay’s arrival will mark the beginning of the Mike Elko era at Texas A&M.

Notre Dame-Texas A&M beat out several other worthy contenders for GameDay’s presence, including Georgia-Clemson and Miami-Florida.
Both Notre Dame and Texas A&M have high expectations this season. The Fighting Irish have a new quarterback in Riley Leonard and a new offensive coordinator in Mike Denbrock as they look to make big strides on that side of the ball in 2024.
Texas A&M boasts one of the best atmospheres in all of college football and hopes to be more competitive in the SEC moving forward with Elko in charge. Texas A&M also returns quarterback Conner Weigman, who flashed a lot of potential last season before going down with an injury.
College GameDay is expected to look a lot different this upcoming season. Former Alabama coach Nick Saban is slated to join a crew that already includes the likes of Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso, amongst others. Saban already joined the GameDay crew for NFL Draft coverage this spring and will be a full-time member this fall.
This will mark the 7th time that Texas A&M has hosted College GameDay in College Station. However, the GameDay crew hasn’t been to Kyle Field since September of 2018. That game, which Texas A&M lost to Clemson, was just the 2nd contest of Jimbo Fisher’s tenure. The show never returned to College Station during the Fisher era.
ABC announced on Tuesday that it will broadcast Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M in primetime on Saturday, Aug. 31. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
