Week 14 of the 2024 college football season is officially in the books, concluding what has been a wild year in the sport in which there seems to be no truly dominant team anymore.
With the postseason now on the horizon, college football analyst Danny Kanell updated his top 12 teams list as we await the final College Football Playoff rankings. In the top 5 were Oregon, Texas, Penn State, Georgia and SMU.
The Ducks finished out with a pristine 12-0 record, defeating the Washington Huskies 49-21 on Saturday. Texas also took care of business in its Rivalry Week matchup, recording a low-scoring, 17-7 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field.
Ewers finished out 17-for-28 passing for 218 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Penn State concluded its one-loss season with a solid 44-7 win over the Maryland Terrapins in Happy Valley. Georgia did not have the same type of complete win as some of the other top teams in the nation did during Rivalry Week, suffering a major scare from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
After some 8 overtimes, the Bulldogs got the job done with a 44-42 victory in Sanford Stadium.
