For one of five schools, strong work on the recruiting trail will result in Victory.

Westlake (California) defensive tackle Victory Vaka revealed a top five list on Saturday of Florida, Texas A&M, Michigan, Oregon and Florida State in a graphic posted to his Twitter account. He visited four of the five programs in 2020, with no trip to FSU.

Vaka is listed at 6-3, 325 pounds and rated 4-stars, the No. 13 defensive tackle, No. 20 California product and No. 200 prospect nationally in the 2021 class on the 247Sports Composite. He currently holds 17 scholarship offers. While Vaka has seemingly trimmed his list to five, his recruitment won’t be wrapping up any time soon. According to 247Sports, Vaka will not commitment until Dec. 16.

Brandon Huffman of 247Sports evaluated Vaka in 2018, noting Power 5 starting potential with a potential future in the NFL:

Has a big frame. Needs to continue to show an improving motor, often getting by with sheer size. Shows a quick first step and plays with great leverage and technique. Does tremendous job shedding blocks and getting into the backfield. Plugs gaps and can take on multiple blockers. Projects as multi-year Power 5 starter and a third-day NFL draft selection.
