ESPN announces televised Early Signing Day coverage, including several scheduled live commitments
Recruiting junkies are well aware of the fact that the Early Signing Period has essentially turned into the new National Signing Day, and even during this unusual recruiting season, that looks to be the case yet again this year.
Prospects have not been allowed to take unofficial or official visits basically all year and coaches have not been permitted to interact with recruits in-person since the pandemic began but that hasn’t slowed down the recruiting cycle much at all.
With the Early Signing Period set to begin on Wednesday, look for the majority of SEC prospects to sign with their program of choice this week.
On Tuesday, ESPN announced its plans to have a two hour Early Signing Period special on ESPN2 starting at Noon ET.
During the recruiting special, the following prospects are set to announced their commitments live on the air:
Scheduled live commitments (listed times are ET):
12:15 p.m., 4-star QB Jaxson Dart, considering: Arizona State, BYU, UCLA, USC
12:45 p.m., 4-star DB Damarius McGhee, considering: LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee
1:30 p.m., 4-star RB Donovan Edwards, considering: Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan
1:45 p.m., 5-star LB Xavian Sorey, considering: Alabama, Florida, Georgia
The SEC Network also plans to have recruiting updates with updated segments from SEC Now and The Paul Finebaum Show on Wednesday.
In addition to that, several SEC programs plan to stream their National Signing Day press conferences on SEC Network+.
