ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of each college football game every weekend. Week 10 was another wild week, and now we’re on to Week 11. The model has updated and released predictions for the entire Week 11 slate.

Included in the Week 11 predictions is an SEC matchup between South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The model is predicting a tight game between the rivals, with the Gamecocks getting a 59.1% chance to win the game. This means the Commodores have a 40.9% chance to win another conference matchup.

Both of these teams are coming off wins in week 10. The Gamecocks pulled off a big upset over Texas A&M, while the Commodores went down to Auburn and picked up their 6th win of the season. The Commodores are already bowl-eligible, while the Gamecocks would be with a win in week 11.

These teams have played each other 33 times in history. It’s been a one-sided rivalry, with the Gamecocks winning 29 of those and the Commodores winning 4. The last time the Commodores won in the rivalry was back in 2008. South Carolina won 47-6 in the last matchup between these teams in 2023.

The Gamecocks and Commodores both have 3 SEC wins. The Gamecocks are sitting at 5-3 overall while the Commodores are 6-3. South  Carolina enters this matchup having won 2 SEC games in a row, while Vanderbilt is 1-1 in their last 2 SEC battles against Texas and Auburn

After this contest, the Gamecocks still have games against Missouri, Wofford, and Clemson. The Commodores still have meetings with LSU and Tennessee on the schedule.

These SEC rivals will kick off from FirstBank Stadium on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET.
