ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of every college football game each week. The FPI’s predictions for Week 3 have been released, including the game between Texas A&M and Florida.

The 2024 season has not gone as well as either the Gators or Aggies have hoped, so this early season matchup provides a chance for one of the teams to get back on track.

The FPI sees this as a close game, with the Aggies given a 59.2% chance to come away with a victory. This means the Gators have a 40.8% chance to win.

Week 1 was a disaster for both of these teams. The Aggies fell to Notre Dame at home in College Station, while the Gators were demolished at their house by Miami.

In Week 2, both teams were able to get a win against FCS teams. The Aggies beat McNeese 52-10 while the Gators beat Samford 45-7. Now, Week 3 will end with one of these teams having a quality conference victory.

It feels early to call anything a “must-win” game, but it’s hard to not say that for the Gators in Week 3. Florida has the nation’s toughest schedule and will take any win they can get. The Aggies have a tough schedule in their own right, as games against Arkansas and Missouri loom on the schedule.

These 2 SEC rivals will kick off from Gainesville on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
