The Georgia Bulldogs didn’t need to do anything this weekend to move up two places in the Top 25 of one of the two college football polls released Sunday afternoon. Georgia, which had a bye week, was ranked No. 23 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Georgia moved up from No. 25 in last week’s Coaches poll. The Bulldogs remained outside the top 25 in the AP Poll. Mississippi State was No. 25 in the AP rankings.
The Bulldogs (5-2, 3-2 SEC East) play Florida (6-1, 4-1 East) in Jacksonville on Saturday in a crucial East Division game. If Georgia wins, the Bulldogs would tie the Gators (No. 12 Coaches, No. 11 AP) atop the division standings. If Florida wins, the Gators, who also had the weekend off, would clinch the division title.
Other SEC schools in the Coaches Top 25 included: No. 4 LSU, No. 7 Alabama and No. 21 Ole Miss. Texas A&M and Mississippi State were No. 26 and No. 27, respectively.
With 116 points in the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs trailed No. 22 Temple, which had 277. They had only five more points than No. 24 Pitt.
Ohio State remained No. 1 in both polls.
