We have some terrible news to share as Columbia has announced freshman receiver Jackson Coker died following a car wreck. Coker was 18.

Coker was back home in Austin due to COVID at the time of the accident.

“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Jackson Coker,” Columbia’s Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football Al Bagnoli said. “Not only was he a talented student-athlete who excelled on and off the field, but someone who embodied the personal characteristics our program is built upon. He personified what great teammates are all about. They give great effort in everything they undertake, are extremely accountable in their actions and always put team first. That, in a nutshell was Jackson.”

“Our entire football family grieves with his passing and our program extends our deepest sympathies to the Coker family.”

Coker was a graduate of Westlake High School, where he was named First Team All-District selection as a senior in 2019. He also earned Academic All-State honors during his time at Westlake.
