Kirk Herbstreit has shared his post-Week 3 top teams. The ESPN personality did not see any reason to move his top 4 teams from the previous week.

Herbstreit has Georgia at No. 1, followed by Michigan, Texas and Florida State.

This week, Herbstreit’s top 4 lines up with the AP Top 25. Media members moved Florida State down from No. 3 to No. 4 after the Seminoles escaped with a 2-point win at Boston College.

Georgia was favored by more than 4 touchdowns at home against South Carolina, but had to outscore the Gamecocks 21-0 in the second half to secure a 24-14 victory. When assessing the rest of the college football landscape, Herbstreit and the AP voters kept the Dawgs on top.

Many fans are surprised by where Texas is in the rankings. The Longhorns needed a 21-point 4th quarter to defeat Wyoming 31-10 in Austin. AP voters moved Texas up a spot, while Herbstreit kept the Horns at No. 3.

Herbstreit’s fifth and sixth teams, USC and Ohio State, also happen to be the same as the AP rankings. He breaks from the media voters by placing Washington at No. 7 after the Huskies’ blowout win over Michigan State.

We’ll see what Herbstreit says next week.
