LOOK: Mercedes Benz Stadium ready for Alabama-FSU, Tennessee-Georgia Tech openers
The wait is finally over.
SEC, NFL, MLS and other fans have been clamoring for the completion of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Today, they finally got their wish.
The beautiful new stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, is home to the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United and the Chick-Fil-A kickoff games — Alabama vs. Florida State and Georgia Tech vs. Tennessee. All schools are within 275 miles of the stadium.
In a little over two weeks, this stadium will be filled to the brim with fans come Labor Day weekend. Atlanta is a perfect city for these matchups, because the area is a hotbed for SEC alumni. It will be a part of some of the best opening weekend games college football fans have ever witnessed.
For Yellow Jacket fans, the drive is short from their home field, Bobby Dodd Stadium. Less than two miles separate the historic landmark and the brand new masterpiece.
Falcons senior VP Brett Jewkes revealed the inside of the stadium Monday morning, and it looks spectacular.
