Ole Miss vs. LSU injury news: Updates on Tre Harris, Chris Hilton and more

Ole Miss will travel to Baton Rouge on Saturday night to take on LSU in a top-25 showdown that could have major postseason implications.

The Rebels will do so, it seems, with the services of their top receiver in Tre Harris. He was upgraded to “probable” on the SEC’s official availability report, which was updated on Friday evening.

Prior to this update, Harris was considered questionable for the game against LSU. Harris was injured in the first half of Ole Miss’ win over South Carolina last week. He recorded 3 catches for 81 yards before exiting.

Harris is one of the most prolific wide receivers in football. He has 52 catches for 885 yards and 5 touchdowns already in 2024.

LSU’s injury update isn’t quite as positive from the Tigers’ perspective. Wide receivers Chris Hilton Jr. and CJ Daniels were both downgraded to doubtful for this Week 7 matchup. Hilton’s injury has gone on longer than anticipated. Coach Brian Kelly spoke about the slow progress earlier this week.

“It has been a complicated injury,” Kelly said. “Let’s get the record straight, just so everybody knows. Chris has done everything to get back as quickly as possible. This has been an injury that we’ve done scans. We’ve done MRIs, and the healing has just been slow. He’s put in the time. And he has the want-to to want to be out there.”

Another availability report will be finalized approximately 90 minutes before kickoff. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
