ESPN announces Pat McAfee has joined network’s coverage for upcoming college football season
ESPN continues to make moves heading into the upcoming college football season and arguably the biggest one was announced on Monday as former NFL punter and Barstool personality Pat McAfee has been signed by the network as an analyst.
McAfee will be in the booth for ESPN’s Thursday night college football coverage, along with former NFL QB Matt Hasselbeck and Adam Amin. Molly McGrath will also be a part of ESPN’s Thursday night team as the sideline reporter.
“Fans are about to learn what I have experienced firsthand: Pat is one of the most insightful and entertaining people in the world to watch a football game with,” said Hasselbeck of McAfee. “He combines a wealth of on-the-field experience with his natural comedic nature, making him a unique personality that has the ability to captivate an audience. Viewers are in for a treat on Thursday nights and, personally, I can’t wait for the experience of calling games with him.”
ESPN’s first Thursday night game of the year features UCLA traveling to Cincinnati. For fans of the Egg Bowl, that game is slated to now be covered by McAfee come Thanksgiving night on Nov. 28.
I can’t thank you all enough for this love today..
I’m honored to be an “internet guy” who’s getting a prime time shot with a network.
