Paul Finebaum sees Saturday’s contest between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers as an elimination game as teams across the country begin to make their final push for the College Football Playoff, which has been expanded to accommodate 12 teams as opposed to the previous 4 teams.

Once considered a lock from the very beginning of the season just a few years and back ago, this isn’t the same Alabama dynasty team we have grown so accustomed to seeing over recent years. The Crimson Tide aren’t even in the top-10 going into this game, with criticism abound in the first year of the Kalen DeBoer era.

“The loser of this game says goodbye, Adios, to the season,” Finebaum said. “The loser will have three losses and there’s just no way to get back in.”

With how competitive things have have gotten and with simply how much shakeup there is within the race itself, it’s anyone’s guess for now as to who will ultimately both make it into the dance and go all the way.

It will be interesting to watch how things shake out as the Tigers and the Crimson Tide kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET in Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 9.
