Phil Steele puts together one of the best and most comprehensive preseason college football magazines in the entire country.
He also plays prognosticator from time to time, and recently, he predicted how the preseason 2022 AP Poll top 10 would shake out.
Steele has 3 SEC teams in the top 10, which he predicts solely based on how he thinks the AP Poll voters will rank teams, leaving his personal thoughts out of the equation:
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Ohio State
- Clemson
- Texas A&M
- Notre Dame
- Michigan
- Utah
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
Steele notes that 125 of the 130 teams he’s thought would be ranked in the preseason top 10 over the past 13 years have indeed earned that distinction.
