Each Friday of the 2015 SEC season, we had fun predicting the newspaper headlines for Saturday’s conference action before the games were actually played.

They were rarely right, and predictably some of us were way off on choosing which team would even win the game, but being our own headline writers was an enjoyable exercise and tool for debate.

So with one final conference game left, it’s time to give our best effort to predicting the headlines for the SEC championship game between Alabama and Florida.

Since there’s just one game, we’re going to cheat by predicting multiple headlines using different outcomes for the game.

Join in with a comment below if you have a good one.

If Alabama blows out Florida …

Alabama headline: Tide repeats, rolls to CFP
Back-to-back SEC championships and College Football Playoff appearances await.

Florida headline: Gators worked silly
Injuries and suspensions will catch up with Florida against a team as deep and talented as Alabama.

If Alabama wins in a close game…

Alabama headline: Lucky Sixes
Nick Saban is in search of his sixth SEC championship game win, Alabama is in search of its sixth as well.

Florida headline: Almost does count
Considering where the Gators were a year ago, a close loss in this game has to be taken as a positive from a high-level view of the program.

If Florida wins in a close game…

Alabama headline: Kiss it goodbye
As in, the Crimson Tide’s playoff chances are gone with a loss here.

Florida headline: Gators out-Smart a distracted Bama D
Get it? Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is reportedly leaving for Georgia.

If Florida blows out Alabama …

Alabama headline: Dazed and Confused
The Crimson Tide program, and its rabid fan base, would be stunned by this outcome.

Florida healdine: Mac The Miracle Maker
Based on what we saw against Florida State last week, this outcome would take a miracle for coach Jim McElwain.
