As we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, college football conferences are starting to make decisions about the upcoming season.
The Ivy League and others have canceled their fall seasons. The Big Ten and Pac-12, meanwhile, have opted for conference-only schedules.
This week, radio host Joe Giglio reported that the ACC is considering a conference-only schedule, too. However, this schedule would include 10 games against 5 teams in a home-and-home format:
One scheduling model on the table for the ACC:
Ten games but not 10 individual games, rather a home-and-home between five teams.
Notre Dame would be included and count in the ACC standings
There wouldn't be any other games against teams outside the league

Adding Notre Dame to the mix would make things interesting. That would give the conference 15 teams, allowing for 3 different pods of 5 teams.
There’s still time for final plans to materialize, but this would certainly be a unique way to play the 2020 campaign.
