Report: Howard coach Ron Prince accused of being verbally abusive, threatening players

The Howard Bison are off to a bit of a rough start under coach Ron Prince, who has the team sitting at 1-4 through five weeks.
It’s his first year as the team’s head coach, and he is already drawing negative reviews from parents and players. MEAC player of the year Caylin Newton (Cam’s younger brother) and three other players were transferring.
HBCU Gameday reported on Wednesday that Prince has been accused of threatening players with losing their scholarships and being verbally abusive:
HBCU Gameday has been contacted by several parents of Howard football players who accuse Prince of being verbally abusive and intimidating to the student-athletes. In separate conversations, parents accused Prince of sending injured players home without treatment and creating an atmosphere of intimidation within the program by the constant threat of loss of scholarships.
When reached for a comment, Prince instead declined, saying he has no idea about any complaints against him:
“I have nothing to comment on that,” he said on Wednesday afternoon. “I don’t have any knowledge of it.”
Howard lost 79-0 to Maryland in Week 1 and several players are transferring, so it’s not a good time to be a Howard player right now, it seems.
