Report: Morgan State football player dies in weekend car crash

On Sunday morning, tragedy struck the Morgan State football family.

According to a report from WBAL.com, 21-year-old Morgan State DL Saif Bryant was in a car accident around 3:30 a.m.

Per the report, Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after hitting a tree:

Howard County police said a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix struck a tree and caught fire on Centennial Lane near Burnside Drive around 3:24 a.m.

The driver, Saif Bryant, 21, of Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bryant was a junior with the team, having been with the Bears since 2016. He was majoring in physical education.

It is still not known what caused the crash.
