Report: USF is close to inking Charlie Strong as its next head coach

Former Texas coach Charlie Strong is reportedly close to landing the open head coaching job at USF.
According to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated, the deal is nearly done:

After former USF coach Willie Taggart left for Oregon earlier this month, the rumors surrounding the school and Strong began to intensify.
Now, it’s seemingly only a matter of time before the deal is done and Strong officially has a new job.
Strong, a longtime Florida assistant, has ties to the area, which will help him recruit top players to his new program.
Adam is a daily fantasy sports (DFS) and sports betting expert. A 2012 graduate of the University of Missouri, Adam now covers all 16 SEC football teams. He is the director of DFS, evergreen and newsletter content across all Saturday Football brands.
